Lombard General Insurance has decided that no matter what happens this New Year's Eve it is determined not to be a Millennium party pooper. The Groupama-Gan subsidiary has "liberalised" the terms of its Eventualities insurance policy to provide for the particular needs of those organising New Year celebrations.
Brokers and intermediaries are being supplied with new promotional literature outlining the benefits of the policy and urging event planners to insure themselves.
The policy can be claimed against in the event of bad weather and covers all kinds of small events up to £50,000 sum insured for a minimum fee of £75 plus IPT. The policy options include:
- The costs and expenses and commitments for events cancelled or abandoned
- Loss of fees for entertainers or key people and loss of revenue on entry fees
- The cost of damage to property and public liability
- Events in a marquee or temporary structure.
