It is less hazardous living in the West Country than the rest of the UK, according to insurers. With less crime, a milder climate and a higher standard of housing "less risk should mean lower home insurance premiums".
That's why Axa and the Westinsure broker network say they have teamed up with to "offer customers a more cost-effective home insurance policy with greater cover".
Westinsure spokesman Michael Pavey said: "The more clement weather and lower crime statistics mean that the region is in general a safer place to be. So it's about time our clients started to reap some of the benefits of living here."
He added: "Being available only to people living in the region and the fact that it is traded through EDI systems means the policy can compete on price and cover with the best in the market."
