Lloyd's broker LPH Pitman is planning to start a book of professional indemnity (PI) business in June, following the recruitment of specialist Michael Rendell.
Rendell joins from Lloyd's broker PYV where he was a director.
LPH Pitman currently handles aviation, political risk, war on land, reinsurance and marine business.
But the broker is planning to build its PI business following the recruitment of Rendell, who specialised in solicitors' indemnity at PYV.
Rendell said: "At LPH Pitman we'll be concentrating on PI cover for large law firms."
Rendell is expected to take up the role of director at PYV in June 2003.
