Green Flag Group has finalised a deal to sponsor the British Touring Car Championship for the 2002 season.
The move is likely to raise the insurance partnership's profile considerably as the series will be broadcast on ITV, and will also be known as the Green Flag British Touring Car championship.
The championship dates from 1958 and is considered Britain's premier saloon car series. It will start at Brands Hatch on 30 March.
Managing director Stephen Geraghty said Green Flag is proud to be associated with the series and is looking forward to "an exciting year ahead".
Green Flag Group is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group of companies. It offers insurance partnerships and motoring assistance services.
