Lloyd's broker Manning Williams entered voluntary liquidation this week putting the jobs of 80 staff at risk.

Begbies Traynor liquidator Chris Morris said that a creditors meeting has been set for 23 December at Lloyd's and that some of the staff had been retained.

For the year ended 30 Septmber 2003, Manning Williams reported brokerage of £4m and a pre-tax profit of £343,000. It reported assets of £86m and creditors of £85m. The accounts were signed off by auditor PKF on 28 March 2004.
