The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) South East Policy Unit has released its latest report, the Autumn 2000 Flood Survey.
The survey was based on responses to a questionnaire developed in conjunction with Tim Lazenby from Warren Hill Insurance.
It was sent to businesses in areas of the South East affected by the autumn 200 floods.
The results suggested over 42% of businesses, surveyed estimated flooding had cost them in excess of £50 000.
The report stated 63% of respondents were satisfied that their insurers had been fair in the final settlement offered.
The survey also included six case studies, which looked in detail at how the floods affected businesses.
