Markel International has named Gerry Albanese as its new president and chief operating officer.
Richie Whitt has also been appointed executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Markel International, the London based international arm of Markel Corporation.
In the UK, Markel International operates in the London Company Market through Markel International Insurance Company and at Lloyd's through Markel Syndicate 3000.
Albanese said: "Great opportunities exist for our London business. The recent AM Best rating developments and the Syndicate 3000 performance forecasts show that the team we are leading in London successfully shares Markel's commitment to underwriting profitability."
