With one race to go in the Insurance Times regatta, Marsh and Towergate are provisionally in first place.
However with one race due to start at 4pm, the Euclidian Challenge Trophy is still up-for-grabs.
Euclidian have had a much improved day with a fifth and third place in race two and three respectively.
AON and Zurich have also performed well in slightly milder conditions on the Solent.
The Thomson financial crew have had a nightmare afternoon after being forced to retire from both races today.
A spokesman for race organiser SetSail said that several crew members were taken ill.
He said: "The racing has been even more competitive today, with all crews improving on their previous bests. Marsh and AON look good, but Zurich have looked very assured. Its going to be very close."
