Max Re Capital said it expects Katrina losses to be between $60m and $90m.

Ohio-based Progressive said in a Friday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it expects its Katrina losses to be approximately $119.5m.

The losses stemmed from the insurer's commercial and personal automobile business. The company said it had received about 19,000 Katrina-related claims up to 14 September.
