BrokersLink COO to target new international markets

Jacqueline Legrand

European and Latin American insurance broking group MDS Holdings has appointed Jacqueline Legrand as chief operating officer and board director after targeting new markets outside of its Portuguese, Angolan and Brazilian territories.

Legrand has 20 years of experience, mostly in the insurance brokerage industry, and an expertise in global insurance programmes.

She worked most recently at Frank Crystal & Company in New York where she managed its international activities. In 2009 she was also appointed chief operating officer of North America for BrokersLink, one of the largest broker networks in the world. 

Prior to joining Frank Crystal, Legrand held various senior management positions in the insurance and IT industries in France including Théorème and IBM.

MDS Holdings chairman José Manuel Fonseca said:  “The broad expansion of our international footprint is highly strategic for our group and it is where we have decided to focus our energy and efforts. Jacqueline brings a fantastic experience in international operations management and with her expertise and personal drive, she will greatly contribute to build the next chapter of MDS development.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
