Loss adjusters Morris Associates and Phoenix Chartered Loss Adjusters have merged to form Agrical, the largest team of dedicated farm, estate and equine adjusters in Britain.

The chief executive of the new company, Bob Morris, said the companies had merged to provide clients with greater consistency and quality of provision.

"Because of the very specific nature of the farming, estate, equine and agribusiness customers they insure, our clients need properly focused support backed by strong technical knowledge.

"Unlike other national loss adjusters, our skill and service levels are not diluted by demand from other sectors of the market."

The creation of Agrical will see the offices of Morris covering the south of England and those of Phoenix serving the Midlands, the north of England and Scotland. The network has also been strengthened through a separate agreement with Wrenmores, who provide similar services in Wales and the northwest of England.

Agrical said to ensure continuity it would trade as Agrical Morris and Agrical Phoenix. Its head offices will be based in Somerset and Yorkshire. The company employs 30 people but said it expected to recruit more employees as its branch network expanded.
