The Motor Insurers' Bureau has announced that Ashton West is to become its new chief executive.
West will take over as chief executive from James Read, who is retiring later in the year.
MIB chairman Simon Machell said: "James has been a valued member of MIB and I would like to thank him for his commitment and dedication over the last 12 years. I wish him every success for the future.
"I'm delighted that Ashton will be joining MIB. His experience in the insurance industry will help us to further strengthen the reputation of MIB. The organisation faces significant challenges in its continuing effort to control uninsured driving."
