Misys' Countrywide network is nearing £3bn GWP after a third consecutive year registering £200m growth.

The business registered over 800 renewals for 2004/5, with 100% retention from those brokers who had not merged or sold out.

Misys Insurance Management head of insurance services John Dawson said: "There has been a great deal of speculation over the demise of the high street broker, particularly since the Hill House Hammond announcement, but these latest figures show that's not true of Countrywide members."

The software house also reported delivery of its FSA Regulation Module ahead of schedule to the 900 brokers who attended the company's FSA workshops. The module contains a range of system enhancements designed to ease the compliance progress.

Misys General Insurance sales director James Gamble said: "The initial response to the module has been very positive and we are already in the process of adding additional enhancements. It has always been our intention to deliver the module well in advance of the FSA's deadline for authorisation.

"Interestingly enough, however, other software houses are not making their FSA module available until much later in the year."
