Misys has teamed up with Wrightway Underwriting to launch a full cycle EDI motor product. According to Misys, this is the first full cycle EDI product on the Irish market.

The system is due to go live this month and will enable Misys brokers to electronically access Wrightway's motor and light commercial vehicle policies.

Wrightway group operations director Breda Wright said: "By working with Misys, we will be able to substantially expand our network of brokers. Misys customers already account for at least 50% of the market and generate significant volumes of business for us.

"By enabling brokers to trade via full cycle EDI, they will be able to enhance their operational efficiency and make significant cost savings - obviously a major advantage in today's market."

Misys has been operating full cycle EDI products in the UK for more than ten years. Last year Misys brokers completed three million EDI transactions.

One broker attending the Misys demonstatrations in Ireland said that now that full cycle EDI was available it would be "very difficult" to return to manual processes.
