Two ex-Wellington employ-ees have resigned from Catlin to join former colleagues at new Lloyd's insurer, Ark Syndicate Management.

In what is expected to be the first in a number of resignations this week, Hayley Parkin, an assistant hull underwriter, has left to join Peter McIntosh, former underwriter in Wellington's marine hull, cargo and specie division.

McIntosh left the company in November, immediately following the £700m merger with Catlin.

Leanne Walker has also departed to join up with ex-boss David Foreman, who has taken on the role of chief underwriting officer at Ark.

As reported by Insurance Times (News, 22 March), the payment of bonuses at Catlin has led to increased spe-culation that a number of former Wellington staff will leave.

Sources close to Catlin suggest the company is now bracing itself for more resignations later this week.

Catlin declined to comment.

Meanwhile, three other former Wellington employees have also left Catlin this last week, bringing the total number of departures to more than 90 employees. This includes 10 underwriters.

Simon Lowe and Mark Litchfield, both war and political risk underwriters, are understood to have left the company on Thursday, following the departure of John O'Neill, former head of claims at Wellington.
