MPI Brokers, a specialist travel and wintersports intermediary, has launched a season-long insurance product for tour operators to cover their seasonal workers abroad.
The product comes in two parts, the first of which provides emergency medical and repatriation expenses, including personal liability, which the employer pays for.
The second part of the product is an optional element which the employee can choose to take out. It includes cover for personal accidents, baggage, money, ski equipment and ski passes. It also covers the cost of returning home for a family bereavement, and subsequent travel back to the resort.
Michael Pettifer, managing director of MPI Brokers, said: "There are no particular exclusions, such as manual work or only skiing off-piste with a guide. We are aware that resort staff do these things and as professional brokers we make sure they are properly covered."
