The former chief executive of Independent's wife has settled her legal dispute with National Westminster Bank.
Catherine Bright was being pursued over repayment of £300,000 in loans that she and Michael Bright had taken out with NatWest.
The case was due to be heard at the High Court this year. However, the law firm acting for NatWest, Reid Minty, announced yesterday that they had settled out of court. The firm said Mrs Bright would pay NatWest a substantial sum.
It is believed she will pay this with income from the sale of the couple's two houses.
Michael Bright was declared bankrupt last August and reportedly owes in the region of £5m to creditors.
