David Vick has been appointed chief executive of the Isle of Man's Insurance and Pensions Authority (IPA).

He was formerly deputy chief executive. He is taking over from Bill Hastings who has retired.

Vick commented: "The development of the Isle of Man's insurance sector has been a good example of industry and government, including regulators, working together for the benefit of policyholders, businesses and the Isle of Man itself.

"I am mindful and protective of this achievement and it will remain a key objective of the IPA that this success continues and also that we ensure that the island remains a high quality, developing international insurance and pensions centre."
