A dedicated insurance scheme for new media companies and professionals has been launched by new media development agency Wired Sussex.

Called Wired Insurance, the product is designed to cover the specific risks associated with new media.

It provides a portfolio of relevant products such as cover for computer equipment, laptops and inadvertent transmission of viruses, said Wired Sussex. Professional indemnity, internet and email, D&O and EL cover are also included in the package.

The discount scheme was created in partnership with Lloyd's broker FirstCity.

Wired Sussex executive director Emily Aitken, said: "With small businesses experiencing a steady rise in insurance costs, the time seemed ripe for an insurance scheme targeted not only at SMEs, but covering the risks which new media companies face."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
