New professional indemnity (PI) insurer, Magian Mutual, has appointed a board of non-executive directors to run the company.

The company, set up to provide PI cover for Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs), has appointed three directors. Peter Standish has been made chairman, Keith Peacock will handle underwriting, while Alan Cleary will oversee claims.

It has also chosen three other directors from the IFA industry, including Valerie Gaze, Steven Rimmer and Dale Thornley.

Since its launch Magian Mutual has received orders to the value of over £1.4m of premium income.
