The insurance broking arm of Towry Law has launched a credit and political risk division.
The new division will be based at the firm's Birmingham and Leeds offices, with representation in the South East to follow shortly.
Former Willis managers Gavin McLaren and John Cockshutt will head up the division.
John Cockshutt said: "The global business environment is one of escalating uncertainty, economically and politically. Recent events show that Credit Risk is something that companies should pay more attention to than they may have in the past.
"It is not just the obvious risks, like the current situation in the Middle East or Argentina, but how larger events affect a business's customers.
"At Towry Law we will support our clients' business by addressing these issues and providing solutions which protect our clients' balance sheet and hence their shareholder investment."
