Colchester-based Agency Underwriting Limited (AUL) has launched a new longstay travel policy. It is aimed at people under 40 who are planning on spending up to 18 months abroad.

Clients can chose from different covers in the two-tier product - Standard Cover which is essentially medical cover with personal liability and passport loss cover included, or Extended Cover which includes insurance for a wider range of eventualities.

Premiums are calculated on a monthly rate, based on the specific destination.

The cover is suitable for a wide range of activities, says AUL, and is suitable for those working abroad.

Managing director Richard Lamberth commented: "Gap years are growing in popularity and this is not just college leavers. Increasingly people are looking at taking a year out from their job, even working abroad temporarily, and as travel insurance specialists we have responded to their insurance needs with an easy-to-understand product."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
