Integer resists SLRG

Integer has urged its members to reject plans by the Stop Loss Recovery Group (SLRG) to replace members of the board with three SLRG directors. A row has broken out between the two groups over whether Integer sought compensation from Euclidian for the losses incurred in relation to its stop loss policies.

Liberty merger

Liberty Syndicates has announced the merger for the 2005 year of account of its two syndicates at Lloyd's, Syndicate 190 and Syndicate 282. It said merged Syndicate 4472 would result in increased service levels to brokers and clients, improved returns and reduced costs.

FSA role for Prettejohn

Lloyd's chief executive Nick Prettejohn has been appointed to the FSA's financial services practitioner panel. Prettejohn represents the general insurance sector.

Sagar acquisition

Sagar Insurances has acquired the commercial insurance business of Haslingden-based Steven Barton Insurance Services, with effect from 1 December. Sagar has offices in Accrington and Clitheroe.

Allianz issues TOBA

Allianz Cornhill has begun issuing its terms of business agreements to brokers. The insurer said it had accepted risk transfer, co-mingling and non-solicitation.

Doodson joins Willis

Manchester broker Arthur Doodson has joined the Willis Commercial Network.

Cox NI acquisition

Cox has acquired the issued share capital of Northern Ireland broker J McWhirter in a deal worth £5m. Cox said the deal would make it a key player in Northern Ireland.
