Gable reports gains

Construction insurer Gable Holdings reported a net profit before tax of £400,000 for the six months ended 30 June 2007. Gable said gross written premium of £4m produced an earned premium of £3.3m.

Oamps acquisition

Oamps UK acquired Keith Johnson & Co. Oamps said the acquisition increased the scale of its Reigate operations and was an important step in continuing the growth of its insurance broking operations in the UK market

AXA manager joins Polaris

Mark Cliff, managing director, markets at AXA Insurance,was appointed chairman of Polaris.

Markerstudy buys

The retail operation of Markerstudy Group acquired Lancashire-based Melbrook Insurance Consultants.

HelpHire profit up

HelpHire Group, reported its -tax profit had increased by 63% to £40.3m for the

12 months to 30 June 2007. Turnover was up 49% to £290m.

AXA’s Homeserve deal

AXA will now take 100% of Homeserve’s underwriting risk for new business in a

five-year deal beginning 1 October 2007

Encouraging start for SSP

SSP executive chairman David Rasche said the software house had made an encouraging start to the financial year and trading was in line with management expectations.

Brit opens walk-in centres

Brit has launched a walk-in “trading floors” scheme, allowing broker partners to use its offices for meeting underwriters and clients face-to-face. The centres are available in Brit’s Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham offices.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
