TAG settlement reached

The long-running litigation surrounding the collapse of The Accident Group (TAG) has been settled. Manchester-based solicitors Rowe Cohen and hundreds of other personal injury firms reached a settlement with insurers Winterthur and NIG in the £70m legal battle. Winterthur launched the legal action against over 500 personal injury law firms after TAG collapsed in 2003. It alleged that the law firms referred claims they knew would fail. The insurers had been seeking to recover the £70m lost through underwriting TAG cases.
