Lockton International head of claims Barry Jones is understood to be leaving the company. He is believed to be joining Marsh. Lockton and Marsh declined to comment.

Takaful boom forecast

Ernst & Young has predicted that the global takaful market will be worth $15bn (£7.6bn) by 2018. In its World Takaful Report 2008, released on Monday, the accountant forecast a continued 20% annual growth rate for the industry. It said important drivers to the industry were high economic growth, a youthful demography, increasing awareness, a greater desire for sharia compliant offerings and increasing asset based, sharia- compliant financing.

Mortlock joins ABI team

The ABI has appointed Paul Mortlock to join its tax team, with particular focus on corporate tax and financial services products. As well as corporate tax issues, Mortlock's tax policy role will cover strategic input into a range of general insurance tax areas. He joins from Amlin.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
