Crawford appointment

Crawford & Company has appointed Kevin Mountford to its global account management team. As global account executive, Mountford will be based in both the Lloyd’s office in London and in Birmingham, and will be responsible for the development of key accounts in Crawford’s multinational and UK business sectors.

Marsh oil firm risks

Limited oil and gas resources, the recruitment and retention of a qualified workforce, and energy price volatility are the key risks facing oil and gas companies, Marsh has claimed. In a survey, the broker asked national oil and gas companies to rate the relevance of risks identified by the World Economic Forum and how effectively they were managed.

Broking group THB has followed the expansion of its London office with the opening of a new office in Cheltenham. THB has acquired new office space for the specialist administrative team that supports the PWS broking teams.

NU joins Direct Fleet panel

Direct Fleet Insurance (DFI), the auction-based platform for fleet insurance, has added Norwich Union to its panel. Norwich Union is the UK’s largest fleet insurance provider. DFI now offers access to 80% of the UK’s fleet insurance market. Other insurers already trading on the site include Allianz, AXA, Brit, Groupama, Highway, HSBC, NIG and Zurich

SSP broker manager

Matthew Snape has joined SSP as a senior account manager in its broker division managing several strategic customers. He has significant experience gained over many years in the insurance industry, most recently in the London market where he has spent the past eight years.

Odyssey earnings drop

Odyssey Re reported a fall in earnings for the second quarter and raised its quarterly dividend by 20%. The Connecticut-based company's net income was $65.2m (£33m) compared to $145.5m for the same period last year.

Munich Re US appointments

Munich American Re has announced the appointments of Stephen Rulis as vice president, group, and Thomas Penn-David as vice president, business development, effective 1 August.
