NHS boost for insurers

Health insurers have been given a major boost with the government’s announcement that it will allow patients to pay for private drugs without losing their right to NHS care.

The ABI has said that private medical insurers could have a key role to play in helping patients to take advantage of new medicines and other treatments.

VPL buys Newspace

Venture Preference has acquired Newspace Insurance Services.

Newspace is a Northampton-based broker and specialises in the SME sector, in which it runs its own specially developed schemes. The business has 3,000 clients, two specialist schemes and employs 11 people.

Croft for market reform

Peter Harmer, chairman of the Market Reform Group,

has announced that Christopher Croft will take over as head of the Market Reform Office at the turn of the year.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
