‘Bringing reserving, pricing and exposure management together under her leadership will enable us to streamline our operations,’ says chief executive

Antares Global has promoted Meera Rajoo-Oakley to the newly created position of chief actuary for its commercial department, effective immediately.

The firm said that the creation of the new role had been designed to “bring together pricing, reserving and exposure management for the Antares Commercial division under a single leader”.

In her new role, Rajoo-Oakley – who also serves as chair of the committee of actuaries in the Lloyd’s market – will be tasked with providing strategic oversight of the actuarial and exposure management function of the commercial business, including Lloyd’s Syndicate 1274 and Antares Re.

Rajoo-Oakley joined the firm from Gable Insurance in 2017 and has served as chief actuary of Syndicate 1274 since 2020. Her two decades of actuarial experience also includes time spent in various senior and leadership roles at Direct Line Group and Grant Thornton.

Streamlined operations

She will report directly to Antares Commercial’s chief executive Mark Graham.

Graham said: “Bringing reserving, pricing and exposure management together under Rajoo-Oakley’s leadership will enable us to streamline our operations, strengthen the specialist support available to our underwriting and claims teams and drive the continued development of our commercial platform.

“Rajoo-Oakley has made a significant contribution to our syndicate’s success during her almost 10 years with the business and her appointment reinforces our commitment to developing talent and providing clear pathways for professional progression.

“Her deep actuarial expertise, strong leadership credentials and detailed understanding of our commercial business also make her ideally placed to take on this role.”
