’We are bringing much needed innovation, expertise, capacity and service to retail brokers to help them differentiate their offering and place the broadest range of commercial risks,’ says managing partner for risk solutions
Aventum-owned (re)insurance broker Consilium has launched an exclusive complex commercial binding facility for brokers under a newly formed underwriting platform.

Called Scriptus, the platform provides UK brokers access to broad propositions, with A rated capacity and competitive pricing, alongside the ability to place all elements of casualty and contractors’ all risks requirements and property risks.
The platform will be led by Luke Browne, associate partner for risk solutions at Consilium, who joined the broker from Dual in 2025.
Matt Pini, managing partner for risk solutions at Consilium, said: “We’re delighted to launch Scriptus.
“Often when people think of binders they think of smaller risks, but our binder will consider risks of all shapes and sizes. And in the rare case it doesn’t fit under our binder, one advantage of being part of Consilium with our wide market relationships means we will still be able to find it a home.”
Managing risk
The products the platform accommodates in-house include commercial combined, contractors combined, combined liabilities, property, CAR and plant and excess of loss for a wide range of risks.

It also provides these offerings for a number of higher risk trades, including civil engineers, groundworkers, building contractors and allied trades, precision engineers and steel fabricators.
Pini added: “With Scriptus, we are bringing much needed innovation, expertise, capacity and service to retail brokers to help them differentiate their offering and place the broadest range of commercial risks.
”For too long, they’ve been underserved by composite insurers, so in true Consilium style, we’re doing things differently, bringing something unique to market that not only sets us apart, but also the brokers we serve.”

She joined the title after completing a Master's degree in Journalism in 2025, having previously graduated with a degree in English Literature.View full Profile
