Bridge Specialty International-owned (BSI) Decus Insurance Brokers has appointed Steve Downing to lead a new division providing wholesale construction insurance propositions across the London and broader European markets.
The new hire is positioned to enable BSI to strengthen its existing capabilities and expand its service offering for both US and international customers.
In his new role, Downing will report to chief executive at Decus Glyn Harris.
Harris said: “We are delighted to welcome Downing to the Decus team as divisional director for construction.
”His deep knowledge of the construction market and proven ability to drive growth will be instrumental in establishing this new division.”
Experience
Downing brings over three decades of experience in the construction insurance market and joins from Evolin Broking, where he was head of construction.

Prior to this, Downing also held positions at Miller as an account executive for over three years and was senior vice president at Lockton for nearly five years.
