The ’challenge’ for the cyber market is turning complex data ‘into something brokers and clients can put to use’ and this newly created role is about ‘closing that gap’, says managing director of proactive and global cyber security services
Cyber and risk specialist CFC has appointed Isabel Finn as head of cyber exposure and proactive risk.

In her new role, Finn will focus on translating CFC’s reserves of real world incident data, threat intelligence and monitoring insight into intelligence that supports broker placement conversations and helps clients better understand where their greatest exposures sit.
She will work closely with the firm’s underwriting, product, proactive cyber and incident response teams to ensure exposure insights are directly reflected in underwriting assessment, proactive services and claims mitigation strategies.
Jason Hart, managing director of proactive and global cyber security services at CFC, said: “Cyber risk has become more complex and more data rich than ever before.
”The challenge for the market is turning that data into something brokers and clients can put to use. Finn’s role is about closing that gap. By strengthening the feedback loop between incidents we see, the intelligence we gather and the way risk is assessed and priced, we’re giving brokers clearer, more practical insight to support placement discussions and help clients take meaningful action to reduce their exposure.
“That’s increasingly what the market is asking for and this role is a key step in delivering it.”
‘Real opportunity’
Joining from Canopius, Finn has served as cyber services manager for nearly three years, in which she led cyber exposure and service initiatives supporting underwriting and risk reduction.

She also previously held the roles of senior cyber security consultant at FTI Consulting in 2023 and cyber analyst at artificial intelligence (AI) cybersecurity platform Darktrace.
Commenting on her appointment, Finn said that throughout her career she has focused on ”translating complex technical risk into something clear, practical and usable”, including supporting underwriting decisions and security leader focus.
“I’m really excited to join CFC,” she continued.
“What stood out to me is the strength of its response, intelligence and monitoring capabilities and the depth of real world data that sits behind them.
”That creates a real opportunity to turn what we see in incidents into something more forward looking, helping clients and underwriters better understand where risk is building and how to act on it at speed.”
