Lauren France, director and strategic lead at DWF Law, explains her firm’s entry alongside Marble Arch, Marshmallow and Intact Insurance to the Excellence in Fraud Mitigation category
1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the Excellence in Fraud Mitigation category?
We entered this category to demonstrate our innovative, collaborative approach to tackling insurance fraud with this particular operation. By uniting DWF, Marble Arch, Marshmallow and Intact, we addressed an industry-wide challenge posed by fraudulent behaviours, protecting both insurers and consumers.

Our strategy combined intelligence, regulatory action and cross-insurer collaboration – which resulted in significant disruption of fraudulent practices and measurable financial savings.
2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
Our entry stands out for its unique, multi-faceted strategy and industry collaboration. We pioneered cross-insurer intelligence meetings, direct engagement with consumer victims and regulatory enquiries, which led to disruption of fraudulent activities.
The operation delivered £2.6m in savings in 2024 and also enhanced consumer protection.
3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Winning this award would recognise the dedication and impact of our team and insurer clients in detecting and combatting insurance fraud.
It would validate our collaborative, innovative approach and the tangible benefits delivered to insurers and consumers – especially the significant financial savings. Such recognition sends a strong message that fraudulent behaviours will not be tolerated.
