Tovah Grosscurth, commercial lines managing director at Intact Insurance, talks about the company’s submission for the Commercial Lines insurer of the Year category
1. Why did you put yourselves forward for this category?
2024/25 was a record-breaking year for Intact Insurance UK. Growth of 23% with a sub 93% combined operating ratio – our best result in over a decade. We have displayed disciplined growth and a step change in service for our broker partners while integrating RSA, NIG and FarmWeb and, ultimately, rebranding to Intact Insurance.
This successful transformation stems from a broker-first model and pioneering technology. Our ambition is clear – to be the UK’s best commercial lines insurer.

2. What makes your entry stand out, and why should you win the award?
We are purpose-driven and led by our ambition. In addition to our financial results, we have transformed the broker experience through innovation and service.
Our increased pricing sophistication, new underwriting workbench and market leading claims technology have all contributed to a significantly enhanced proposition – doubling quote rates, halving our time to quote and enabling claims payments to be made within two hours.
With a five star Insurance Times eTrade rating and recognition across a range of network-led surveys, we are proud to have the opportunity to showcase our transformation and the improved experience we are consistently delivering for our broker partners.
3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Winning would be a powerful recognition of the passion, resilience and dedication of our people during a period of extraordinary change.
It would honour the trust brokers and customers place in us and validate our strategy to deliver industry-leading performance while staying true to our purpose – helping people, businesses and society prosper in good times and be resilient in bad.
For us, this award would mark a milestone on our journey to become the UK’s best commercial lines insurer and inspire us to keep raising the bar.
