Simon Ritterband, managing director at Moonrock Insurance

Moonrock was founded to deliver tailored insurance for the drone industry – an area historically underserved by traditional products.

Since then, we’ve pioneered specialist cover for all types of drone operations, built strong partnerships with leading insurers and driven innovation in a fast-evolving market.

Entering this category reflects our commitment to shaping the future of aviation insurance and celebrating the progress we’ve made.

2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?

Moonrock combines deep expertise with genuine innovation.

We’ve introduced first-to-market products such as the Consortium, developed intuitive trading platforms and delivered bespoke solutions for complex risks.

Today, we support thousands of brokers – not only by providing tailored solutions for their clients, but also by sharing our market knowledge to help them succeed.

Backed by leading insurers, we’re actively shaping the future of aviation insurance

3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?

Winning would validate our vision, empower future growth and spotlight specialist MGAs as key enablers of innovation in the insurance market.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
