Keir Cox, director of operations at Purbeck Insurance Services, speaks on his firm’s entry to the MGA of the Year (under 100 employees) category

1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the MGA of the Year (under 100 employees) category?

Purbeck Insurance Services deserves recognition for how we have redefined what an MGA can deliver for small businesses.

Our flagship Personal Guarantee Insurance is unique in the UK, giving directors the confidence to secure finance without risking their homes and savings.

Unlike traditional insurance which responds at the point of claim, our model is built on prevention and support.

Three-quarters (75%) of businesses we’ve helped in financial distress have succeeded rather than fail.

Demand for our product is accelerating, demonstrating both the need and the value of our approach.

Every business saved, every settlement reduced and every director reassured reflects our mission to innovate with purpose.

2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?

What sets us apart is our proactive, customer-first model.

Through our Support Desk, unlimited mentoring and partnerships with restructuring specialists, solicitors and demand response services, we deliver both financial and emotional support at the most critical times, typically reducing debt settlements in an insolvency by 30%.

We also stand out for our innovative use of technology, embedding open banking and accounting APIs to create a fast, transparent and stress-free claims journey.

By combining prevention, protection and people-first support, Purbeck is truly reshaping the role of an MGA.

3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?

Securing the Insurance Times MGA of the Year (Under 100 Employees) Award for 2025 would be the icing on the cake of what has been a brilliant year for Purbeck Insurance Services.

As we deliver strong year-on-year sales growth and good results for our capacity provider, Markel, this award would be a powerful acknowledgement of the passion, hard work and talent of our fantastic team.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
