Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has appointed James Cole as head of client and broker distribution for UK and MENA.
In his new role, Cole will be responsible for streamlining distribution across UK and MENA and leading the client and broker distribution team in its delivery of service.
LSM said he will report directly to Luis Prato, president of UK and MENA for LSM, and will work closely with LSM’s underwriting teams and global distribution leadership to “ensure effective and consistent alignment with global strategy while leveraging regional expertise to deliver LSM’s market-leading proposition”.
Experience
Prior to joining LSM, Cole spent the past 10 years at Generali GC&C UK, most recently as head of distribution.

He also spent 10 years working as a business development manager at business insurance specialist Travelers.
Prato said: “We are committed to building lasting relationships with brokers and clients based on trust. Our distribution team takes a proactive approach, understanding the needs of brokers and clients and offering them tailored solutions.
“Cole’s experience in client and broker distribution will be instrumental in evolving and harmonising our approach across UK and MENA.”
He graduated in 2017 from the University of Manchester with a degree in Geology. He spent the first part of his career working in consulting and tech, spending time at Citibank as a data analyst, before working as an analytics engineer with clients in the retail, technology, manufacturing and financial services sectors.View full Profile
