’Our entry into the credit and political risk market marks a significant milestone,’ says chief executive

Lloyd’s insurer Atrium has appointed a new credit and political risk team.

The new team will develop a book across credit and political risk to fulfil changing customer needs and respond to the dynamic and increasingly volatile geopolitical landscape.

It will be headed by London market leader Richard Lamb. He will be joined by Beth MacGregor and Adam Vulliamy.

All three new hires, who join from Axis Capital, will join Atrium in Q1 2026 once they have completed their contractual obligations.

John Fowle, chief executive at Atrium, said: “Our entry into the credit and political risk market marks a significant milestone for Atrium in our continued development as expert specialty underwriters and the home for market-leading talent.

”In today’s dynamic and increasingly volatile geopolitical landscape, credit and political risk insurance plays a pivotal role in safeguarding investments and facilitating trade and demands true expertise to deliver sustainable underwriting solutions.”

Experience

Lamb will hold the position of head of credit and political risks and has over 27 years of market experience, having worked on both the carrier and broker side.

Meanwhile, MacGregor joins from her position as senior underwriter at Axis and Vulliamy moves from his role as lead underwriter.

Fowle added: ”Lamb, MacGregor and Vulliamy have each developed strong reputations and extensive experience in credit and political risk underwriting.

“Together, they will build on their track records for managing complex portfolios across a range of clients, positioning Atrium as a ‘go-to’ market for brokers and clients.”
