’The strength and depth of his connectivity within the industry are astonishing,’ says chief commercial officer

Global claims service provider McLarens has promoted Gavin Jackson to head of Lloyd’s and London market.

In his new role, Jackson will focus on expanding the firm’s claims propositions, as well as driving growth in the delegated claims authority sector and across McLarens’ specialty divisions.

This includes aviation, construction and engineering, crisis management, marine, natural resources and FAJ and Specie.

His appointment comes as McLarens looks to strengthen its Lloyd’s and London footprint. As part of this, the firm recently appointed Alistair Jacob as head of London international.

Jackson will work closely with Jacob in his new role.

“I am honoured to take on this role to help steer McLarens toward continued success within the Lloyd’s and London insurance markets,” Jackson said.

”January 2025 marks my fifth year with the business, during which time I’ve witnessed the strength and continued growth of our regional and specialty lines operations, including third-party administration services.”

Experience

Jackson, who succeeds the now retired David Pigot, has 14 years of experience in loss adjusting and claims management.

He joined McLarens in 2020 as its client liason for the London market and has held this role for the last five years.

Before this, he worked at Crawford and Company as client liason manager for the Lloyd’s and London market.

Graham Smart, chief commercial officer at McLarens, said: “The strength and depth of his connectivity within the industry are astonishing and he is renowned for finding solutions to the most challenging of situations.

”He is relied on by many as a gateway to our global business and I have no doubt that he will be a huge success in this new role.”
