Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, promotions and leadership changes from 21 to 25 July 2025

Starting off the week, Howden-owned Dual Europe announced that its new European trade credit business will be led by Frank Masteling, who recently joined the company as head of trade credit.

Prior to joining Dual, Masteling served as managing director at Nexus Trade Credit and oversaw operations in the UK and Europe.

Then, global Lloyd’s (re)insurer MS Amlin, part of Japan-based Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (MSI) Group, appointed Brit chief underwriting officer Christiern Dart as its new chief executive, to replace retiring leader Andrew Carrier.

Dart is set to assume the firm’s leadership in January 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

Following this, Tokio Marine HCC International (TMHCCI) appointed Gavin Bridges as chief claims officer.

In his new role, Bridges will focus on strengthening the firm’s claims strategy by enhancing its client-centric philosophy and collaborating closely with TMHCCI underwriting teams.

Rounding off the week, Zurich UK appointed Asha Kumar as its first chief technology officer, with the former HSBC leader set to join the insurer’s executive committee in October 2025.

The newly created role will support Zurich UK’s ambition to accelerate its adoption of artificial intelligence and modernise technology across the business.
