Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, promotions and leadership changes from 18 to 22 August 2025
Starting off the week, Ardonagh-owned Bravo Networks appointed Karen Jackman as its new managing director.
Jackman will join the firm on 1 September 2025 and report to Phil Bayles, chief commercial officer at Everywhen, the new name for Ardonagh Advisory.
Then, specialty MGA Optio Group hired former Deloitte staffer Carrie-Ann Hallett as head of insurer partnerships, effective immediately.
Hallett will be based in London and report to the MGA’s chief underwriting officer, Gary Head.
Following this, Patons Insurance appointed ex-Gallagher leader Steve Milner as its new head of commercial.
In his new role, Milner will help the family-owned broker develop and implement more sales and marketing strategies.
After that, Prestige Underwriting promoted Tim Baxter to the role of business development and relationship director.
In his new role, Baxter will lead the broker engagement and distribution strategy across the UK and Ireland.
This week also saw Howden appoint former Wales Rugby Union and British and Irish Lions player Dafydd James as a development executive in its south Wales team.
James, who joins from Lockton, will focus on driving growth in the region while supporting colleagues across the wider business.
Meanwhile, Clear Group appointed Barbara Duffy as its new group chief people and performance officer.
In her new role, Duffy will be responsible for leading the company’s people and organisational development strategy, including the hiring, development and retainment of industry talent.
Rounding off the week, commercial property insurer FM appointed Tara Long as its new senior vice president and chief information officer.
In her role, Long will oversee FM’s technology strategy to ensure the company has the right architecture, skills and tools to support clients, business operations and long-term growth.
