’Our re-entry into the light and recreational general aviation sector closes a long-standing gap in Willis’s portfolio,’ says head of global aviation and space

Willis has returned to the light and recreational general aviation market after a 30-year absence.

The move has been enabled by the arrival of the Crispin Speers team, whose propositions and expertise has allowed Willis to broaden insurance offerings.

Through this expansion, Willis offers a comprehensive range of insurance products tailored to the needs of light and recreational general aviation operators, including microlights, balloons, gliders, commercial drones as well as light fixed wing aircraft.

In addition, Willis is now equipped to offer commercial insurance solutions for non-aviation risk exposures, by leveraging the expertise of its network.

John Rooley, head of global aviation and space at Willis, said: “Our re-entry into the light and recreational general aviation sector closes a long-standing gap in Willis’s portfolio, enabling the delivery of an A-Z suite of insurance solutions.

”Clients can now benefit from a seamless, one-stop approach for all their aviation insurance requirements, backed by Willis’s global reach and trusted reputation.

Spreading its wings

The arrival of the Crispin Speers team introduces established, turnkey services, underpinned by technology that allows handling of a large volume business offering.

Rooley added: “This expansion reflects Willis’s unwavering commitment to its clients, partners and industry stakeholders.

”By broadening our capabilities and embracing innovation, we are confident in our ability to deliver market-leading insurance solutions and drive positive change across the aviation sector and beyond.”
