Insurer NIG has extended its cover for motorcycle and private motor policyholders to include travelling within the EU, Croatia, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland, the company said today.

Cover is provided for trips up to a total of 90 days per policy year and is written into the policy wording eliminating the need for brokers to issue foreign cover endorsements or green cards for trips in these countries.

Adrian Harris, NIG's personal lines director, said: “This arrangement will help improve the service brokers provide to its foreign travel customers, ensuring that the issuance of documentation for their trips is timely.”

The insurer has also this week launched an online quoting system for its Trophy Motorcycle product, which offers motorcycle and scooter insurance.

The system allows brokers to enter details through NIG Network and receive a quote back within seconds, which is guaranteed for 30 days, NIG said.
