Japanese insurer Nissan Fire & Marine has appointed Axiom Claims Consulting to act as run-off manager for Nissan's participation in the Fortress Re Reinsurance Pool.
Nissan was a member of the Fortress Re Pool from 1981 until it cancelled its participation in late November 2001.
Axiom chairman and chief executive Michael Stephens said: "We are delighted to extend further our business relationship with Nissan that has already been in existence for over ten years as run-off manager."
Axiom said it would be working closely with PriceWaterhouseCoopers together with policyholders, cedants, brokers and other interested parties to facilitate an effective and efficient management of Nissan's run-off of the Fortress Re Pool.
