As the leader of over 30 expeditions, including the first polar circumnavigation of the Earth and the first unsupported crossing of the Antarctic continent, Sir Ranulph Fiennes has overcome many obstacles.

But now, as he attempts to climb Mount Everest, the insurance industry could prove to be the ultimate challenge. According to a report, Sir Ranulph is unable to obtain cover for the climb. Not only is he too old at 60, he is also insufficiently healthy, having suffered a heart attack, and lost several fingers to frostbite.
