Obama opposes extending state flood insurance to wind
A letter from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano suggests the Obama administration opposes adding cover for wind damage to the national flood insurance program, according to Reuters.
The letter to Representative Barney Frank, chairman of the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, said the administration "strongly opposes" portions of a House bill approved last year that would have added wind coverage to the program.
Reform legislation stalled in Congress in a dispute over the wind damage issue.
