Norwich Union (NU) has cut its home insurance rates for new broker business arranged during the summer.

From today the insurer is cutting its home insurance rates for new policies by up to 20%. The savings will be made available on new business for the following policies:

  • Home Plus
  • Your House
  • Home Connect
  • Home and Drivers Club

    Rates for Your House and Home Plus buildings quotations will be discounted by 20%, while Your House contents and belongings rates will be cut by 15%.

    The discounts will be available until 15 September, and brokers are being encouraged to collect rewards related to the scheme under NU's broker incentive scheme, Choices.

    NU broker services consultant Alex Moors said: "We want to target profitable business. We have been getting varied feedback from our brokers so we really want to establish just how competitive we are.

    "We do not have any plans to extend this scheme or to introduce new schemes at the moment."
