Norwich Union (NU) has welcomed the FSA's proposals for the regulation of general insurance sales.
NU said the FSA's proposal to classify small businesses as commercial customers showed that insurers' had mounted an effective lobby.
Alwin Harmer, head of compliance at Norwich Union, said: "We are delighted that the FSA has included insurers' feedback in drawing up these practical proposals.
"We welcome its recognition that measures, such as the classification of small businesses as commercial customers, will avoid the creation of additional categories of customer, which would ultimately add further costs and complexity for the consumer."
