Case management company Injury Care Clinics has teamed up with Remploy, the UK's largest employer of people with disabilities, to speed up the return to work of injury claimants.
The two organisations have developed a new occupational service, Occupational Case Management (OCM), aimed at getting claimants back to work in a sustainable job both quickly and inexpensively.
Remploy said getting injured people back to work had long been one of the more problematic areas of rehabilitation.
It added that until now the insurance industry had lacked an option that was based on a practical approach and that took advantage of claimants' transferable skills.
OCM operates within the guidelines contained in the "Code of Best Practice on rehabilitation, early intervention and medical treatment in personal injury claims" and provides early intervention, help and support to each claimant based on their needs.
Remploy general manager Stuart Knowles said: "By expanding our assessment service to include OCM we will have the opportunity to assist more disabled people into sustainable employment.
"It's an exciting and worthwhile project and we have already seen some very positive results."
