ABI leader says learner must not have test for a year
Maggie Craig, acting director-general of the Association of British Insurers has written tot the Times calling for young drivers to be learners for a year.
“We have long argued for the introduction of a minimum one-year structured learning period to enable drivers to undertake supervised practice before taking their driving test,” she wrote.
“Making the learning process longer may frustrate some younger drivers eager to get on the road, but better this than they become another tragic statistic.”
